What is Botox?
Botox is an injectable neuromodulator. These injectable products work by blocking the nerve impulses of specific muscles to temporarily soften muscle movements that cause wrinkles. These quick treatments have minimal downtime, can notice results as soon as 24-48 hours with longevity lasting up to 4 months.
Botox has been FDA approved for migraines, profuse underarm sweating, limb spasticity, and overactive bladder/incontinence. Cosmetically the most common targets are horizontal lines across the forehead and perpendicular frown lines between the brows (also called “The Elevens”), and crow’s feet around the eyes. Other, lesser-known areas include nasal squint lines, eyebrow lifting, bands in the neck and lip lines and lip lifts.
